We can sometimes feel that the bliss we experienced on our wedding day
was just a fleeting moment that can never be recaptured. Well, this
past weekend we were reminded that marriage was given to us by an
unshakable God. He has also given to us through his word some
unshakable principles for marriage that if lived out, we can indeed
restore and maintain those special feelings we felt on our day of
matrimony.
Lewis & Tosan Livingstone
The brothers and sisters who spoke to us, used the power of the
unshakable foundation of the word of God and the fallibility of their
lives, exemplified by their failures and successes, implored us to
conduct our marriage on principles that result in – Unshakable Love,
Unshakable Respect, Unshakable Communication, Unshakable Romance,
Unshakable Partnership and Unshakable Discipline.
The world is a hurting place for marriages. It needs lighthouses of
Godly marriages to expose dangerous and hazardous ways and to identify
for it, ways that are safe harbors built on God’s word.
Let each of us commit our self to an Unshakable Marriage, and to God be the glory.
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS (audio available to the left)
Unshakable Communication
Teachers: Larry and Mary Lou Craig
The comedian Bill Cosby once said, "Men and women belong to different
species and communications between them is still in its infancy." Yet,
a key to having is great marriage is great communication. In marriage,
we have much to learn about how to communicate. Larry and Mary Lou
Craig can help here. Their class will cover principles and practices
on how to communicate effectively with your spouse.
Unshakable Romance
Teachers: Jeff and Florence Schachinger
The poet Robert Frost penned these words, "Love is the desire to be
irresistibly desired." In marriage we should make our spouses fell
like they are "irresistibly desired." This is where romance enters the
picture. Is your marriage filled with romance, passion, desire, and
intimacy? Jeff and Florence will teach us how to keep our
relationships intimate and special. They will discuss principles that
lead to connectedness and emotional closeness in the marriage.
Unshakable Partnership
Teachers: Sheridan and Debbie Wright
The Bible teaches that in marriage a great event occurs--two become one
forming an intimate partnership. This partnership makes both
individuals stronger as a union than they would be apart from each
other. Sheridan and Debbie will explain how this partnership works.
They will give practical points on how to form a united partnership.
They will give helpful advice on how to resolve barriers that keep us
from being united and close. They will teach us how to work together
and how to become best friends.
Unshakable Discipline
Onyechi and Deysi Oguagha
Life is hectic. Often it seems like there just aren't enough hours in
a day. Sometimes we feel like a hamster on a treadmill, running and
running but getting nowhere. We ask, "How can I get everything done in
a day and still maintain a wonderful marriage?" Oneychi and Deysi
will tackle this issue head on in their class. They will talk about
how we can prioritize the events in our lives so that we can put first
things first.
